KVINT — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026 · Published by Aksial Technologies AS
KVINT is a daily word game. Your account is anonymous — we never ask for your email, your name, or a password, and there is nothing to sign in to. There is no advertising, no analytics, and nothing that tracks you, in this app or across any other.
There is no sign-in, and no identity attached to your account
The first time you open KVINT the app creates an anonymous account for you in the background. That is what owns your progress, your streak and your place on a leaderboard. It carries no email address, no name, no phone number and no password. We do not offer Sign in with Apple or any other login, so no third-party identity ever reaches us.
Because there is nothing to sign in with, we also have no way to contact you and no way to look you up as a person. That is the intended trade-off, and it is worth knowing before you write to support (see the support page).
How the app remembers you across reinstalls
On first launch the app generates a random secret and stores it in the iOS Keychain. It is a random value minted on your device — not a device fingerprint, not your device's identifier, and not an advertising identifier. Nothing about your hardware is derived from it, and it cannot be used to recognise you in any other app.
On our side we store only a SHA-256 hash of that secret, in a table no app can read. It exists for one purpose: so that reinstalling KVINT, or restoring your phone, does not cost you your streak. A read of our database cannot recover the value needed to claim an account.
What we store
- An account identifier, which is what ties your progress to you. It is not linked to any real-world identity.
- The hash of the device secret described above, for recovering progress.
- The display name and username you choose, if you set them. These are optional and public — see below.
- Your gameplay: daily attempts and guesses, scores, streaks, XP, credits, achievements, and which multiplayer matches you took part in.
- If you buy KVINT+: the fact that the purchase exists, so the app knows the Maze is unlocked.
We never send you marketing email — we have no email address to send it to. We do not sell or rent any of this, to anyone, ever.
Leaderboards are public, and you choose what appears on them
Daily leaderboards and multiplayer rooms show the display name and username you typed in yourself. Nothing is filled in from your device, your Apple Account or your contacts. If you leave both blank you stay anonymous; if you type your real name, other players will see your real name. Treat these fields as public, because they are.
In a multiplayer match your opponent additionally sees your progress through the current word as you play it — that is the game. Beyond the leaderboard fields and match progress, no player can see anything about another player's account.
Where your data goes
A small number of processors handle data on our behalf. Each is bound to use it only to run the service.
1. Accounts and gameplay — Supabase
Your account, gameplay data and the device-secret hash are stored in a Supabase Postgres database hosted in Stockholm, in the EU. Row-level security means one account cannot read another's data, and the score, credit and achievement tables have no client write path at all — they are written only by the server.
2. API hosting — Vercel
The game API runs on Vercel, also in Stockholm, at kvint-api.aksial.io. It serves the daily puzzle and passes gameplay calls to the database.
3. Purchases — Apple in-app purchase
KVINT+ is billed by Apple. Your card, billing address and Apple Account credentials are handled entirely by Apple and are never sent to us and never visible to us.
That is the complete list. There is no AI provider — nothing you type in KVINT is ever sent to a model. There is no advertising network, no analytics vendor, and no cache or queue service holding your data anywhere else.
KVINT+ and payment
KVINT+ is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and nothing that renews. What we receive from Apple is confirmation that the purchase exists; we keep exactly that against your account, so the app knows the Maze is unlocked. Restoring it on another device asks Apple, not us.
Deleting your account removes our copy of that entitlement record. It does not undo the purchase itself — the purchase stays with your Apple Account, and Restore Purchases will bring it back.
Notifications stay on your device
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled by the app on your own device. We operate no push server and send you nothing; no notification data leaves your phone.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, and no advertising SDK is present in the app.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind.
- No tracking across apps or websites, no advertising identifier, and therefore no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- No location: the app never uses GPS. A country flag appears on leaderboards only if your profile carries a country, which comes from your own setting rather than from positioning.
- No contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data is requested. No payment details either — Apple handles billing, and card numbers never reach us.
- No email address, so no marketing, no newsletter, and no password to leak.
Deleting everything
Open Settings → Delete account in the app. This removes your account and everything attached to it — progress, stats, credits, achievements, leaderboard entries and the device-secret hash — from our servers. It is immediate and it is complete; there is no waiting period and nothing is retained afterwards.
Because the account is anonymous, deletion cannot be undone and progress cannot be recovered afterwards, by you or by us. Deleting the app on its own removes the local copy but leaves the server-side account in place, so use Delete account if that is what you want removed.
Children
KVINT is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
