What should I include in a support request?

Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, the screen or probe involved, and whether Local Network permission and the Mac companion were enabled. You can attach a session export. Review its contents and privacy note before sharing.

Do I need an account?

No. Diagnostic records are stored locally. We cannot recover records deleted from your device.

Why does Sonar ask for Local Network permission?

iOS requires permission for local device discovery. Review it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

Why is the Map tab empty?

Check Local Network permission first. Guest networks may isolate devices, and some devices do not announce themselves. The optional Probe › LAN crawl can discover additional devices on your private network.

What does Sonar send over the internet?

Connection checks and diagnostic probes create network traffic, including reachability timings, captive-portal checks and certificate checks. Diagnostic records are stored locally. See the privacy policy for destinations and details.

Does a CVE match confirm a vulnerability?

No. A match compares a service banner with a known vulnerability entry. It is a lead for further investigation, with a confidence value, and does not confirm that the device is vulnerable.

Can I scan other networks?

Sonar is intended for networks you control or have permission to inspect. Local discovery and subnet scans are restricted to private network ranges.

What does the Mac companion add?

The optional companion adds device details, network presence history and deeper scans from a Mac on your network. Pairing is initiated by you. See requirements and download the companion.

What is in a session export?

An event timeline, readable summary, privacy note and draft letter for your internet provider. Private network details are redacted from readable files by default. Review the bundle before deciding where to send it.

Why can a fast connection still have poor calls?

Throughput and responsiveness measure different things. A connection can transfer data quickly but respond slowly under load. Check Probe › rpm for a responsiveness measurement.

Does Sonar capture packets?

The iPhone app does not capture raw packets. Packet capture is not offered by the currently published Mac companion launcher.

How do I delete diagnostic records?

Delete the app to remove its local records, or use Settings › Privacy › Apply retention now to prune older history. Records you exported separately remain wherever you saved or shared them.
